About Streetscapes Part 1
There’s no doubt that streetscape photography and street photography are close relatives.
In fact, there are times where there is barely any difference.
But where the the differences lay exist in three places:
- Focus
- Intent
- Techniques
So, I’ll start with focus.
Streetscape photography focuses on the built environment. And the physical features of streets and urban spaces.
While street photography focuses on candid moments and human interactions in public spaces.
Consequently, that means streetscapes are more about capturing how the city looks. People may be part of the scene. But they are not the primary focus.
While street photography is about people. The environment they are in is secondary.
