The Power of PoV
Here’s Lucifer attached to the wall at Coventry Cathedral.
I was walking through on my way into the precinct. The sun was working hard as an amazing studio lamp. And the sky was the definition of deep blue. A great day to be out with my camera.
As I approached the steps up to the cathedral, I saw this couple coming down. And talking enthusiastically about the cathedral and its artefacts. Including the sculptures in the wall.
In fact, the lady in particular, was expressing how wonderful it was.
“Oh, how wonderful!”, she enthused and her husband replied: “It is truly outstanding!”
And that caused a caption for my photo to pop into my head…
Admiring the devil…
I know, it’s my sense of humour. It does that sometimes.
But, I lined up and fired the shot as they stood gazing at St Michael and the Fallen Angel.
It was only afterwards that I realised I’d shot a decent PoV photo.
Er, a what now?
Yeah, Point Of View is a big thing for me in street photography. I like to try and make my photos feel like you were looking over my shoulder.
See you on the streets…
